Who are the Lesfic Bard Awards?
We love reading good lesbian literature, and we wish to reward those deserving of recognition. We have heard authors complain of awards that are skewed in favor of big-name authors and publishing houses, so we decided to use our marketing skills to put forth an award of our own. We will use our unique triple-blind judging process to find deserving runners-i[ and winners, then market them to ensure they receive the acknowledgment they are due.
My name is K’Anne Meinel, I am an multi-award-winning prolific lesfic author, I own a publishing house, and I am the owner of the Lesfic Bard Awards. We formed an LLC in our business state to keep everything legal and aboveboard.
I will never submit an entry of my own books to the awards for judging and, I will never act as a judge. I will simply handle the paperwork, ensure the books, authors, and judges remain anonymous, and act as coordinator/administrator. I started this company with like-minded friends, while I do the marketing, which is my specialty. We take pride in our organization and contest, and we hope to become the premiere award that everyone aspires to.
We began with the 2018 season and we will be working with judges, authors, and marketing professionals to provide a superior experience for the awards that were presented in 2019-2024 and now the 2025 season and the ensuing exposure of those authors talented enough to receive our award. We are continuing with our 2025 season in the same vein. We chose an award that exemplifies quality lesbian storytelling and services that will assist the authors to market their award-winning books.
The award itself is crystal. Award inscriptions are deep-etched on the crystal resulting in a “frosted white” color. All colors on the awards are hand-painted. These award are HEAVY, so be warned.
None of the books will be produced or published by us, but we may use carefully released excerpts to market the winners, which may include the covers. We will post blogs and use links to the books to help market your book showing that it is a winner!
